This week’s Dining With Debbie segment on THV11 This Morning is a focus on the king’s birthday. The king. Elvis, that is. Born January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, Elvis reached such an incredible superstardom that he continues to live on in the hearts of many fans even today almost 30 years after his death.
I was pretty young when Elvis was really making the rounds in Arkansas at Fort Chaffee, but I did get permission to stay home from church that Sunday night when he was on the Ed Sullivan Show. I may not have been all enthralled like my older cousin and her friends, but I screamed and squealed nonetheless.
We’ll be talking about some of Presley’s foods such as the infamous Peanut Butter, Banana and Bacon sandwich. I hope you can tune in Tuesday, January 5 around 6:45 to catch the rest of the ideas I’ll be sharing.
Who knows? The King himself just might decide to show up and join the party!
In the meantime, enjoy this classic, actually historic, Elvis.
That young man was a’cookin’! 😀
I was 10 when Elvis was on Ed Sullivan, and I really don’t remember if I saw the performance. But I remember the news coverage of his haircut when he was drafted. My best friend and I saw all his movies and followed his career to the sad end.
You are so sweet to read my posts and always leave comments. Thanks so much.
