This Tuesday, July 14, on THV 11 This Morning, I’ll be sharing several ideas for using our wonderful varieties of Arkansas peaches that are in season right now. Among those will be some favorites from the Morgan family of Peach Pickin’ Paradise (@treeripepeach) in Lamar, including Mom’s Peach Cobbler. The Morgans claim this cobbler to be absolutely the best ever. You’ll be able to get that recipe from the THV11 web site.
Hubby, the Perfect Ones and I recently made a trip to the Morgan’s orchards where we picked some absolutely beautiful samples of their peaches. Somehow a few nectarines found their way into our bushel baskets as well. Wonder how that happened?? Hmmm.
Hubby’s family hails from the Hartman area near Clarksville and Lamar, and they were also peach farmers “back in the day.” While none of the family remains in the area and we have since sold the family farm, there is a kinship among peach growers from the area. It was nice to visit with the Morgans about mutual acquaintances between their family and ours and to meet this little cutie of the next generation of peach growers:)
I hope you’ll be able to tune in Tuesday or catch it on the web. There are so many delicious ways to use peaches that I’m still having a hard time narrowing down my choices. I definitely will be sharing Geraldine Morgan’s Family Favorite Peach Cobbler, of course. You’ll be able to get that recipe off of the THV11 web site after it is posted. I’ll also be sharing some savory uses for peaches as well.
What favorite peach recipe would you prepare? Share if you will.
Right now, I have a bajillion peaches to peel and put away. You’re welcome to join me.
