Yes, she did. I was surprised that she would, but she did.
Last weekend, I was fortunate to be invited by Riceland Foods to be a part of their day-long series of events featuring chef, author, food blogger and TV personality, Georgia Pellegrini. And when I say fortunate, I really mean that.
Earlier in the week I had a slight miscalculation on just where my feet were supposed to be and found myself with a significantly LARGE knot just above my left eye which resulted in a lovely shade of purple eye. Then cheek. Then face. And now that purple has faded but seems to be inching its way down my neck. So last weekend, I was not a pretty sight and seriously debated on whether I could attend Georgia’s Riceland Foods sponsored presentations that were a part of the Wings Over the Prairie Festival in Stuttgart, AR. I mean. I really didn’t want to scare anyone off.
See what I mean? This is the morning after. Post CT scan. The ER doc asked me whether I wanted the good news or the bad news first — you know the drill. The good news was that all was well — no cracks, concussions or otherwise dreadful stuff. The bad news? Well, to put it simply, he said that I was going to look a whole lot worse before I looked any better.
And he was right.
Pretty ugly, huh? I’m nothing if not colorful!
So anyway, with tons of encouragement from Hubby, I decided to suck up my reluctance and self-consciousness, and just go on to Stuttgart. I warned the others in my troupe of fellow bloggers and the event coordinators, Robin and Lizzie, just what to expect. They could not have been kinder. (Thanks Stephanie, Heather, Kellee, Mel, Kat, Peter and Clint, Robin. and Lizzie.)
Georgia and RobinSo what does all of that have to do with Georgia Pellegrini and an apron?
Well, ya’ see, I decided to make each one of these special peeps a camo apron just because. It all started with the one I made to wear on THV11’s This Morning program. I thought that it would be a nice gesture of welcome to make one for Georgia. And it just grew from there.
So while Georgia cooked and entertained us, she did so while sporting the apron I made for her. Wasn’t that sweet of her? She is just as sweet as she is beautiful BTW. (I’ll be sharing more about what all we did and cooked in a later post.)
And she wasn’t the least bit scared of me and my black eye.

So sorry about that fall and I’m glad you didn’t have any damage beyond that knot and colorful eye–which I couldn’t even see behind those sunglasses. I’m glad you didn’t let it keep you away from the Riceland event.
You are so kind:) Thanks.
OMG!! Glad you are ok. That looks painful. Great aprons though. Hate that I missed it.
It really wasn’t painful except for my pride:)
Ouch! I’m sorry about your eye. I hope it starts looking better soon. Awesome about the apron though!
Thanks Kayla. It’s looking better actually although I still have quite a bump. Guess I’ll have to work on the camera angle:) for Wednesday,.
