We reached another milestone in our family this week. Our baby girl, our Perfect Girl, graduated from kindergarten. What happened to the last six years?
She’s had a very good year with Ms. Jennifer.
Last year when I asked Perfect Girl if she was excited to be going to kindergarten, she looked at me with big brown eyes filled with tears and said, “I don’t know math, Nana. It makes me sad.”
Today, she knows about math.
When you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, she’ll say she wants to be an artist. She is very creative and artsy. That makes me happy.
A year ago if you were to have asked her what she wanted to be, she would have said, “A mommy and a cheerleader.” That makes me happy as well.
She has a very wonderful role model in her mommy.
Perfect Girl learned that kindergarten is where you make your very first BFF, a forever friend.
And it’s also hard to say goodbye when your BFF moves far, far away
and that makes you tearful because you have such a tender heart and you love without boundaries.
But…
you also remember that your OoHoo’s big hugs and funny faces can make the world all better again.
So you smile.
And that makes me very, very happy.
Blessed little girl to have grandparents that love and cherish her.
Sweet post! You are making this retired 1st grade teacher smile. Darling photos!
This is a beautiful post, Debbie, and an adorable child!
Bless her little heart for her friend moving. I had it happen a couple of times in grade school. Little hearts are tender, but thankfully they’re also very resilient. I’m curious what she’ll want to be after first grade! I
Thanks for sharing this. It was so touching.
So sweet!
