Join @ColgateSmile, @Champtions4Kids and me in helping provide better dental hygiene for the children of Arkansas.
As a former teacher and active volunteer in our community, I have often encountered children in serious need of proper dental care. For some of those children, the only dental care they received was what they received through dental hygiene programs within the schools through the efforts of local dentists, school nurses and school counselors. If they were fortunate, a local free clinic would offer dental care on an immediate need basis.
Unfortunately, dental care isn’t the highest priority among our state’s poor. When you are living at or below poverty level, your main concern is survival not whether you have cavities or crooked teeth.
You have a chance to help change that. Won’t you join Colgate and me in this effort?
If you live or
work in Central Arkansas, look for the red donation bins at your local Walmart store during the month of March. These are usually located at the entrances. Donate Colgate kids toothbrushes and toothpastes in the bin, and Colgate will match your donations – up to 10,000 toothbrushes total. School nurses from local school districts will collect the donations and distribute them to children in need in their districts.Cashiers will also have bins of Colgate Dora the Explorer and Spongebob toothpaste and toothbrushes available at their registers which will make it easier for you to make a purchase should you forget to stop by the pharmacy section. The cashiers I asked at my local Wal Mart were ready to share about this program and how I could participate.

I love how easy they make it to participate in the program! Who can’t add a toothbrush to their total when they’re checking out? Effortless giving!
