The last of the snow finally melted this week. HOORAY! I am sooooooo ready for spring and summer. Sorry about the whining. I am just not a winter fan. It gets way too much of the year as far as I am concerned. Guess it’s a good thing that I don’t live in Alaska!
I’ll be announcing the winner or the Crock Pot Wednesday February giveaway this week. Check back to see who wins the Jillian Michaels DVD.
With all of my medical tests completed, I am VERY happy to report that all is good. The doctors seem to think that the stomach virus I had really aggravated my acid reflux (which has not bothered me in a couple of years) and caused all of the abdominal pain that I was experiencing. That’s good news. Except that one of my two prescriptions costs $150 a month! Yep. We need some health care reform in this country. I can’t imagine what some families must face with their drug costs. My 24-hour hospital sojourn exceeded $4K. Good grief. Thanks for the prayers and words of support. MY excuses for not exercising are gone!
I think Anne Burrell of the Food Network is a hoot! She seems to be real and to really like food. God bless Giada. Do you think she ever really eats? And what about Sandra. She makes a great theme lady but there is no way she EVER eats anything. Either that or she and Giada have the most aggressive metabolisms in the world.
Anyway…I’m on a quest for trying out Anne’s recipes and will be featuring those at least once a week on my menu plan. Ellie will be there as well on Thursdays for Craving Ellie in My Belly.
Monday: Anne’s Fish and Chips, red cabbage coleslaw
Tuesday: Crock Pot Wednesday’s Vegetable and Chickpea Curry
Wednesday: dance and date night
Thursday: Ellie’s Peppercorn Pork with Wine Sauce
Friday: headed to see the Perfect Babies
I don’t plan breakfasts or lunches during the school year. Hubby is the breakfast cook; he never knows what’s on the menu until he gets up in the morning:) I try to keep things on hand that are easy for him to prepare. One of my future blogs will reflect some of those ideas.
Lunches for me are usually leftovers, yogurt or some type of frozen Lean Cuisine or the like. Hubby has lunch at Bible study twice a week and usually has some other business lunch meeting at least once.
And on a final note…Congrats (she said with a wince) to Canada for its gold medal win in the finals of hockey. It was a great game.
We’re growing! Come check out the Arkansas Bloggers group.

Sounds like a good plan! My crockpot died yesterday (well the crock cracked) about 20 minutes into my meal! So, now I’m off to research crock pots.
So glad you are feeling better… What could be worse than a foodie with food issues…
And I am so with you on the food network stars… Give me Guy and Bobby Flay… they have the little paunch that we all have and we all earned.
DOn;t trust cooks that don;t eat their own foods
Don’t get me started on healthcare. My mom spends 3/4 of her income on medication!
That pork with wine sauce sounds REALLY good!!
Sounds like a yummy week – glad your snow is melted!
I really do enjoy MPM. I can get lots of recipe ideas, visit new bloggers and spread the word that menu planning is healthy and economical.
Love Menu Plan Monday, I play along too, makes life so much easier! Great menu this week! 🙂
I am glad they figured out what was wrong and it was nothing serious. OUCH on the prescription cost!
