Thanks for joining me for Week 4 of 2012 Merry Merry Munchies.
This is your opportunity to share those special treats that you love to serve during the holiday season.
Feel free to offer however many dishes you wish each week. Please do not link up your giveaways or linky parties without offering a dish for Merry Merry Munchies.
As always, please link back to http://diningwithdebbie.blogspot.com from your MMM selected post.
Be sure to enter the Rafflecopter generator each week to be entered for the gift certificate to be given away on Dec. 20.
The linky for Merry Merry Munchies will be published by 11 p.m. each Tuesday.
I’m looking forward to partying with you.
The week of December 17, I will do a wrap-up post highlighting those entries that have received the most attention. Get your family and friends involved! Tell them to come here and comment on your entries. The three most popular choices will receive an added entry in the giveaway.
Hot Buttered Cider
1 cup softened unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups light or dark brown sugar (I prefer dark.)
6 Tablespoons honey
2 teaspoons each: nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla extract
6 ounces rum, optional
Apple cider
1 1/2 cups light or dark brown sugar (I prefer dark.)
6 Tablespoons honey
2 teaspoons each: nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla extract
6 ounces rum, optional
Apple cider
Cream the butter and sugar. Add the honey, spices and vanilla. Add the rum, if desired.
The mixture will refrigerate; leave out the rum and cider if refrigerating. Store in an airtight container.
When ready to serve, add 1 Tablespoon of the mixture and 1 jigger of rum (if using) to each cup of hot cider.
This stores several weeks in the frig and can be frozen. I like to place it in small decorated canning jars and give it out as gifts.
