2012thanksblogging_1

This week many of the members of Arkansas Women Bloggers will be blogging about things, people and events for which they are thankful.  Each day we have been given a suggested theme or project that we are to follow.

The week begins with utilizing out photo editing skills with the PicMonkey, a free online service that was started by Brian Terry and Justin Huff, two former Picnik engineers.  You may remember that Picnik was closed by Google last year.

Since I’m a Picasa fan, I had learned to use Picnik but had not done anything with PicMonkey until this past summer when I found out more about it at the AWBU Conference in Mountain View.  When my blogger buddy, Jasmine over at  Just Jasmine gave me a little private tutorial, I knew that this was something I could use for the majority of my purposes.

I have to stop right here and admit that I own Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Photoshop Elements.  While I have done a little (okay, not so much because they got far beyond me by about page 5) work with those, somebody is going to have to tie me up and force-feed those manual down me!

But I know I can do it! Why?  Because my AWB buddies have encouraged me and been all sorts of willing to help.

In the meantime, I’ll hang out with PicMonkey.com and give it my best shot until I get to…well, page 20 or so.

Julie over at Eggs and Herbs is the artist who designed the original ThanksBlogging logo.  I used PicMonkey to edit it.  I’ll be utilizing more photo editing skills from PicMonkey as I post this week.

If I can do it, you can as well.
